Amalfi Coast Garden Party

Our annual garden parties have never had a theme before but when my sister and I decided on using this theme as inspiration behind the decoration, food and drink we went all in. I fully thrive on organising events like this in our family home. When I think of Amalfi Coast I think of striped sun loungers, Aperol Spritz, glamour, pristine beaches, amazing food. The blue and white pattern, shades of yellow and lots and lots of lemon.

Our Scottish weather is no comparison to the Italian climate however the day we had was warm and sunny and overall perfect for a garden party – thank god! There was A LOT of preparation and organisation including garden maintenance, food, drinks, organising the house and guest rooms.

As guests arrived we had a full table of Prosecco bottles in iced buckets, glass jars of sangria, punch & cucumber cooler along with other spirits and mixer. We put random buckets of ice with beers and cider around the garden for guests convenience. We set up the garden with different Amalfi Coast balloon displays, a DJ, drinks section and all food was kept inside which included a charcuterie board, sushi, snacks and pizza. We created centre pieces with glass jars filled with lemons, limes and sunflowers, we thought this looked really effective and obviously kept within the theme.

Suppliers

Bellavista – the backdrop, the garden party sign and balloons, a ton of thought and work went into creating these for us, this company really fulfilled our expectations. The Amalfi Coast theme was taken into consideration massively, and they sent every single detail and colour to us to approve which was really appreciated. We loved the flowers and butterflies on the backdrops and thought this enhanced the attention to detail.

For Chocolate Sake – the most prettiest sweet treats, again we sent over the inspiration for our event and it was met perfectly! I’ve used this company before so I knew there was a high standard and incredible quality. Each box was only £50 which included various fruits, cake pops, chocolate dipped strawberries, chocolate covered Oreos and other cakes. These were very popular with the kids and were beautiful amongst the other food, and kept with the theme so well.

DJ – LMCNV, one of the best DJs I’ve heard, in preparation they sent us through songs he was putting on a playlist for the party in advance and really listened to what our music taste was (considering the broad age range)! All equipment they brought themselves, we really enjoyed the music and would definitely hire again for similar parties.

Yippon sushi - favourite sushi place in Glasgow, always use them for parties! The packaging is good and convenient for sharing, ideal for events and get togethers.

Amazon essentials – paper lanterns with rechargeable lights, these were so cute for placing around the garden. Ice moulds for large cubes of ice and rose shaped ones to make drinks prettier. Black boards to write directions and signs for guests, these were good next to the litre jars of sangria & punch. Ice machine, to top up ice from the freezer and really handy on the kitchen worktop.

Tk maxx – ceramic garden decorations, lemon tablecloths and runner, glass litre jars and extra cushions. One of the best shops for lemons covered accessories and garden bits to bring the theme together.
